Games and Education
We intend to be a coalition of researchers and a consortium of companies, foundations, governmental sources, etc., who are committed to thinking about the educational use of games. The games literacy initiative is a vital part of our work that includes developing games to teach, helping teachers get access to instructional materials and activities to support games in the classroom and promoting approaches to media literacy, which make kids media producers. As we get ready to launch our efforts, we are trying to talk with as many people doing or planning projects in this area, to see if we can gleam best practices, provide a context for collaboration, and set goals which serve all of our interests.
